A Look Back On a Fantastic 2017 for Loom!

Founder and director Nicola Ellison takes a look back over a fantastic year for Loom.*

*At the time of writing we were called ‘Digirank’. This article was updated in September 2019 to reflect our name change.

As the end of the year approaches and a new year beckons, it’s an ideal time to reflect and celebrate the past 12 months at Loom. Having seen the company evolve from its humble beginnings at my kitchen table to where we are today, it makes me incredibly proud. The team that we have and their dedication makes all this possible.

New Client Wins in 2017

I’m thrilled with the new clients we’ve secured this year. We’ve welcomed Europe’s largest trampoline park Airhop, and Morso UK, the Danish manufacturer of luxury wood-burning stoves.  As a forward-thinking digital marketing company, we pride ourselves on our work with businesses who are hungry for growth. We love driving clients forward to ambitious new heights.

We look forward to helping Morso further cement their reputation as the UK market-leader in wood-burning stoves. We plan to grow both these brands with the use of paid Google, Bing and social media advertising.

Also on board are e-Commerce clients, Naked Flooring, a natural flooring and customisable rug retailer; online speciality beer retailer, Beers of Europe, as well as the UK’s largest glass metro tile retailer and champions of bold colour, Alec Buchan.

Award-winning Agency

2017 was also an awarding-winning year for us when we claimed the ‘Best Use of Search’ at the Wirehive100 Awards. The accolade was for our strategic multi-channel approach for one of our longest-standing clients –  Permagard. To win this was a fantastic achievement for everyone in the team, as well as a personal highlight for me.

It’s been great to push the agency to new standards of excellence and strategic focus this year by completing the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses Programme, a scheme to help small businesses grow and scale. It was an enlightening and wholly rewarding process and has made me even more excited for where we can take Loom in 2018.

The agency became members of BIMA, the British Interactive Media Association. This will provide us with a great community and platform through which to build on our expertise and continue to grow.

Exciting New Hires

I’m delighted to say we’ve grown our dedicated team with three key new hires this year. These new team members will ensure the agency can continue to go from strength to strength and deliver joined up digital strategy to our existing and new clients.

Our new team members include Tommy Pearson, Thom Popejoy and Westley Cogan.

Tommy joined us in April as PPC and Biddable Media manager and has been instrumental in pushing our PPC strategy forward, delivering above and beyond for our clients whilst implementing new and innovative ways to excel at PPC. Thom Popejoy joined us in November, as Account Manager, to work on delivering campaigns for our new clients as we move into 2018. Westley Cogan will join us right at the end of the year as PPC manager, to help support client growth in this area.

Our expansion plans are set to continue into next year, as we move into a bigger office space in Temple Studios. 2018 promises to be a year of huge growth combined with stability as we nurture our existing clients and continue to build on previous successes.

All that’s left is to say a massive thank you to our wonderful clients, partners and friends. And to wish you a very merry Christmas and successful 2018.
