We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Karen Pearce, our Director of Client Strategy, has been selected to appear on this year’s BIMA100 list.
Founded in 1985, BIMA (the British Interactive Media Association) represents Britain’s digital and technology community and is one of the most widely respected names in the digital industry.
To celebrate the individuals who are shaping the British digital industry, BIMA releases the BIMA100 every year. This list commends one hundred digital leaders and experts who have shown true commitment and contribution to the digital industry over the past 12 months. The final BIMA100 list is decided by a panel of leading digital experts.
Selected as BIMA100 “CEO & Leader”
Karen has been selected as part of BIMA100’s CEOs and Leaders category. This category recognises, “People whose outstanding leadership within an organisation has created an environment where their people are genuinely leading the charge in defining the future of our industry.”
The nomination focused on her active role in leading Loom through its recent period of high growth and business evolution.
Karen’s journey with Loom so far
Karen started out with Loom as an Account Junior eight years ago. Today she leads Loom’s team of 11 talented digital experts to help our clients see growth online.
Since taking her position as Director of Client Strategy two years ago, she has actively reshaped our services, moving the agency into exciting new territories that can help us serve our clients with a more integrated and dynamic approach.
It’s this proactive leadership that has helped Loom see our recent growth – 42% and 39% YoY in 2017 and 2018 consecutively. We’ve also maintained our extremely high client and employee retention rates.
Engaging the local community in Digital
As well as Karen’s strong leadership skills, her passion for engaging the local Bristol community in digital was also a key part of her BIMA100 nomination.
Karen launched our “Digiskills” initiative in 2017, which aims to make digital marketing more accessible to young people looking to start digital careers in Bristol.
As a result, Loom now offers work experience, participates in school workshops, and Karen personally mentors the next generation of digital marketers.
“I’m delighted to have been included on the BIMA100 list for 2019. BIMA is an excellent organisation that works tirelessly to create a strong and collaborative digital community in the UK. I’m so pleased to be able to help gain more recognition for Loom and the team that makes it all happen.”
