How we got here
July 2009
We were founded by Nikki Ellison in 2009 as an SEO & PPC agency named Digirank. We welcomed two of our first clients, Infinity Motorcyles and Permagard, who are still with us today.
February 2011
Throughout 2011 and 2012, SEO changed significantly. These core algorithm updates helped us shape our strategic, content-rich and user-focussed SEO approach, which we still practice today.
2013
In 2013, we became a Google Partner in the first year the scheme was released. This meant that Google recognised us as one of the leading Google Ads agencies in the UK.
April 2016
We moved into Temple Studios, which has been our home ever since. We love being a part of the buzzing creative business community here in Bristol.
2017
After six years at Loom, Karen became a director and started to lead the agency, alongside founder Nikki.

Nikki graduated from the Goldman Sachs Small Business Programme, which helped shape and grow the agency.
2017
Also in 2017, we entered and won our first award – a Wirehive 100 for ‘Best Use of Search’. Since then, we have won and been shortlisted for numerous awards, including the UK Search Awards, BIMA awards, Bristol Life Awards, The Drum Awards and Great Places to Work.
2019
After 10 successful years as Digirank, we became Loom Digital. This change brought our name and brand identity in line with our services. We weave together the strands of digital marketing to generate exceptional results for the businesses we work with.
2019
In 2019, we celebrated our 10th birthday. We are a team of marketing superstars, each specialising in our own niche area of digital. We also have a fantastic and loyal client base, much of which is still with us today.
2020
We helped our clients navigate through a challenging year, and managed to maintain a client retention rate of 88%. This year also saw us win a Bristol Life award for Business Services.
2021
In 2021, we made changes to the fabric of our agency and launched ‘Project Stitch’. We flattened the hierarchy, removed titles and established our employer proposition.
2023
In 2023, we moved into our new office on the second floor of Temple Studios. We grew to 20 team members – with specialist teams in paid media, SEO, Content and Digital Strategy.

An accolade we are particularly proud of. This employee-driven accreditation captures feedback on workplace culture and has recognised us as a workplace loved by employees. 100% of our team said that Loom was a great place to work.
2024
In 2024, we became a B Corp. We believe that we can be a business to better the world, and our B Corp accreditation holds us accountable to that.

This year, we turn 15. Well into our teenage years, we are brimming with experience and confidence. Stay tuned to see where next on our agency journey.
Infinity Motorcycles first came to us in 2009. They’re still a client today. That’s not unusual for Loom. We have clients who’ve been with us for over a decade, across different channels, different team members and different phases of their business.
Our long relationships are a result of being straight with people, staying curious about their business and not coasting.
